SharePoint Accessibility Standards

Back To All SharePoint Standards

What follows are merely suggestions as a starting point for defining your accessibility standards. Realistically your standards might vary quite a bit depending on your corporate culture, needs and objectives of SharePoint usage.

Pictures and Media

  • Any added pictures should have alt tags defined for them.
  • If possible all video content should have an available transcript.

Richard, I think that accessibility is more than Pictures and video. My suggestion is to include in these standards some sentences about font usage (type, size, color), and something about keyboard access commands to some contextual menu options or ribbon commands.
